Minecraft Crashes If Redstone Wire has been obtained using cheats

Using the give command, I obtained redstone wire.

What I expected to happen was...:
Redstone Wire (Not redstone dust) would appear in my inventory.

What actually happened was...:
The screen went light blue and crashed after a few seconds (see below for crash report screenshot and text file)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go onto a world with cheats on.
2. Type in the command box "give [your username here] 55"
