[MC-76852] I want to play Minecraft on version earlier than 1.8, but it won't let me

Put the summary of the bug you're having here

What I expected to happen was that I could log in to the hub.thenexusmc.com so I could play on the server.

What actually happened was I watch the screen as it says 'logging in' then all of a sudden I CRASH! AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!!!!

Could you please add the crash report?
Normally this is not for modded Minecraft versions or bukkit server, but it depends on what the actual reason was

Your Java version is out of date! Even though you are using java 1.6.0_65. Please update your Java to the latest version: http://www.java.com/en/download/.

When using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit operating system the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Also:

Your version of Minecraft is no longer supported. We are currently only accepting bugs found in the official release 1.8 and later.
