[MC-78387] Certain sign rotations don't display colors properly

Bug is rather straight forward, some directions for signs are giving darker color texts. Far more directions are darker than the normal bright image.

It says that this was fixed many versions ago. This is a new bug in 1.8.3 though?

Michael, it was never fixed. It was resolved as intended by a Mojang employee.
