Have been spending a lot of time building in a village I found. I built a sizable Manor house which attracted all the villagers to come and play with all the doors inside. Today when I logged in after work, they were all gone. They were there when I logged out, but gone now.
Can I get them back?

I don't think this applies to my problem. Only the villagers are affected, and I cannot still hear them. I am sure they were there when I logged out, but gone when I logged back in. If they were massacred, it happened while I was not playing and my laptop was powered down.
