I have been experiencing a very irritating bug with my launcher that is not allowing me to play on any server i try to join i crash everytime i try joining a server and it did not start doing this until the 1.8.4 update was released

I use a laptop that is brand new and has all of the latest software updates and use optifine 1.8.3 on my launcher to reduce lag on servers but I have not been able to play on any server because everytime i join a server my launcher is instantly crashing since the 1.8.4 update was released I have no hack clients because i despise them I enjoy playing minecraft with my friends and they have also noticed that i have been crashing everytime i try joining any server. The launcher is crashing when i join any server and the crash report is not giving any valid reason or information as to what is causing it there is nothing on my laptop that would even cause a constant crash everytime i join a server please fix this issue because it did not start until the 1.8.4 update was released.
