resource packs on servers won't download

When I try to install a resource pack for a server it crashes my minecraft then sends me to the launcher

what i expected to happen was the resource pack downloads and i play the game

i was booted for the game and then i went back to the launcher

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go on anyserver with a customized resource pack by the server (the hive, high pixel)
2. click to install the teture pack
3. cry
