This is how you could fix it (Works 1.8.7):
Step 1:
Download NBTExplorer if you dont have it already.
Step 2:
Open it up and find the save folder you are looking for. This will be the gray writing underneath your save in the Singleplayer Menu.
Step 3:
Go into the folder with the save in it and go into the folder called "playerdata".
Step 4:
Then go into the sub-folder which will be a lot of numbers and letters (Is it the UUID?)
Step 5:
Go into the "Inventory" folder and go through the entries until you find one which is "5 entries" and is a "minecraft:skull"
Step 6:
Go into the folder called "tag" inside that and in the "SkullOwner" folder. If the Name: tag is empty, double click it and change it to "Notch" (it can be any name without a space)
Step 7:
Go back out of "SkullOwner", "tag", "5 entries" and "Inventory" and delete the SelectedItem folder by DEL.
Step 8:
Save it with CTRL+S and exit out of it.
Step 9:
Go into your game and go on the corrupted map.
It should now be fixed.
