[MC-82504] I am trying to launch the game but everytime I try the programme won't respond and goes back to the 'minecraft news' screen

Firstly I opened the minecraft app and it put me staright to the minecraft news page. I then clicked play below and expected the game to load. However it will not as the app won't respond and puts me back to the crash report page. Please may I recieve help as I don't want to have to reset my PC.

Incomplete without a crash report from ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]). Please attach it so that we can diagnose your issue.

This doesn't look like a crash. HOWEVER: This problem is common with Mods installed.
