[MC-82908] Rendering signs from 1.8 causes player to crash.

The operating system is OS X Yosemite

Environment

I backup my multiplayer world before starting the new snapshot on it. I try going back home and crash. It says something about invalid json at line 1.

Getting this too.

Single player signs are placeable.

Reproducible on servers:
If you go onto a server and place a sign or a sign is within loading range, you will be kicked from the server. with that error
