client disconnecting from a server when placing a sign

When I place a sign on a server it disconnects me, and I cannot connect back, it keeps disconnecting. Anyone that has the chunk with the sign loaded gets disconnected. To fix, I used MCEdit.

Environment

Windows 8.1, Jave 1.8.0_25.
