When you make a creeper face anywhere it simply disappears (Including outside of the end)
Steps to re-create:
1. Make a creeper face like the one in the picture (except use regular clay)
2. Your done it will disappear!

The clay creeper face is currently used to re-spawn the dragon in the end, and is thus removed once completed. This is expected to be corrected later once it is possible to summon the dragon using other means.
