NOTE
The version this was tested in was 1.8.4, 1.8.7, and 1.8.8. 1.8.8 was the version that was used in the video and the error occurs in all 1.8 versions and not just 1.8.1.
In my creative world I switched my gamemode to survival and tried to break blocks nothing. I couldn't place any either. In my survival world I switched to creative to get a jukebox and records and the record wouldn't play. I switched to survival and tried to break the juke box and put it down again since it wouldn't work and I couldn't break it I tried to break some stone next to it and I couldn't. So now my survival world is useless. I think this started around father's day (2015) too.

In the video the first place i was away from spawn the cross in the ground made from white clay it looks white not pinkish cause of my texture pack was spawn but ill do the crash again on the world I ended in farther away from spawn.
I have kinda fixed the issue by looking at the comment on my video that I linked. I did /gamemode survival and i could break blocks. I have used /gamemode 2 in 1.7 and I was in survival so I don't really know what has happened.

Did you do /gamemode @p 2If you did, you went into adventure mode. In adventure mode you can't break any blocks for place them without special NBT effects on the item or blocks.
Game mode 2 is Adventure mode. Read on here: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Gamemode#Game_modes
Did they change survival's game # because in 1.7.2 I could do /gamemode 2 and I was in survival so what happened?
