Spawn-Egg spawned entities "cannot be found"

Trying to kill/teleport/... an entity that was spawned using a spawn egg results in a chat message saying "That entity cannot be found".
However, targetting it using /say works / outputs the entity's name.

What I expected to happen was...:
The action should be executed on the targetted entity. (e.g. killing it)

A chat message saying "That entity cannot be found" appears. The entity itself stays untouched.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Grab a spawn egg and spawn an entity with it.
2. Try to e.g. kill or teleport the spawned entity.
3. See that the entity was not effected by the entered command.
