Pressing Q then E in creative makes you drop an item without the count going down

Not really sure if this is a bug, but it doesn't look like it was intended.

If you are in creative and hold an item in your hand and press Q then E (Drop then Open Inventory) with the right timing (you have to be quick), it will drop the item and the item count will appear to briefly decrease but then go back to what it was, while still dropping the item.
