The Minecraft client will sometimes hang when connecting to a server after having just disconnected from it.
It just shows the dirt background, nothing else, and does not react to ⌘Q or F3 C — only a force quit works.
It is also inconsistent: sometimes reconnecting works fine.

Attached the game output log, copied while the client was hanging. The disconnect exception found in the log has been reported as MC-87041.
Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w42a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time.
after having this issue:
Please attach the complete output of the "Game Output (Your Minecraft name) " which can be found on the fourth tab of the launcher to this ticket.
If the launcher closes after game start, please edit your profile and select "Launcher visibility" then, "Keep the launcher open".
