I got something out of a chest for my house. Once I went to use that item it disappeared and was back in the chest, this also happens when I put items in a chest. This bug happens occasionally
What I expected to happen was...: For the items to stay in my inventory once I took them out of the chest or put one in.
What actually happened was...: The chests items disappeared from my inventory once I pulled them out of the chest or used the item. Or popped back into my inventory after I put them in the chest. (This sometimes happens when shift-clicking.)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Pull an item from a chest or put one in.
2. Open inventory or use the item.
3. It should disappear or reappear but note that it only happens every once and a while for me and a lot of other people as well.

I have the same issue. Server is on windows 7 ultimate 64bit, client machines as well. Happens roughly 15-25% of the time. Seems to happen in spurts, then not for a while. Very annoying.
edit: Java 7 64 bit on server and clients.
Yes, it reappears in the chest. I shouldn't be experiencing any lag spikes as half the time I'm playing on the same machine as the server. that should rule out any network issues. quad core i7 at 4.5ghz, nvidia 570, no reason for lag.
For this bug to happen you should click a chest with right mouse button at least twice before chest inventory opens. Then the chest will quickly open and close and all your interactions with chest inventory will be undone once you close the inventory. Though on a client side you won't realise it until you open again any chest or furnace or anything like that or if you try to use a fake item from your inventory which the client thinks is there, but the server thinks is not.
I just wanted to note that using Sdusiron is right. Above you can see I said I had a lot of problems with chest lag. I've known for a while that my mouse is breaking down. I started using a different one and it works like a charm. No chest problems at all.

This frequently happens to me.
