if you throw an ender pearl through into or out of the nether on 15w39b snapshot server you will often transport to the relative coords that the pearl would have landed in that dimension.this essentially allows players to move distance=(initai coords)(8)^x where x is the number of portals you repeated the process. this can be repeated for until you get up to extremely high coords. It has been tested up to 3.5m blocks.
this is only found in multiplayer in my experience with it.

Confirmed in 15w40b SMP. Player on my server threw a pearl through a portal in the overworld and ended up in the nether at the same coordinates as the overworld portal, per the issue's description.
Confirmed for single player on 15w41b.
Correct behavior for ender pearls thrown into nether portals is: pearl travels to other dimension, since those chunks are unloaded and time is frozen it freezes, then when anyone goes there (loads those chunks) the pearl completes it's fall, usually before the player's vision has cleared from the portal journey. So the player just completes their normal portal journey and finds themselves not beside the portal.
Current broken behavior (after playtesting it on single player 15w41b just now): pearl fails to dimensionally transfer but still divides the x and z coordinates by 8. I emerged at EXACTLY one eighth of the coordinates of the portal I threw it at.
