Can't use Enderpearl

I was still stuck in the ground so i tried an Enderpearl but i couldn't use it!!! And yes, i was in Survival and i couldn't even see the Enderpearl in my inventory

Wait until the cooldown period of the ender pearl has ended - indicated by the white overlay over the hotbar slot.
