/replaceitem command does not work on chest plate slot when trying to equip Elytra

When using the /replaceitem command to set an entity's slot.armor.chest slot to contain Elytra, the server outputs an error message. The command works fine on other items like chestplates, but it appears that the Elytra doesn't work on the command.
