End portal still spawns player into the void

While playing in survival mode, after entering the end portal instead of spawning on the obsidian platform my character spawns -1000 blocks away falling in the void under the island.

On occasion the portal will work normally for a trip or two, but subsequent trips through will result in the same falling into the void death. This has been occurring for me going back many of recent snapshots.

I included a screenshot of the info screen while falling.
