Netherrack changing orientation

In the Nether, when I cut off flowing Lava, every time the Lava goes down, about 30-50% of all netherrack blocks on my screen are changing their orientation.

Timing seems sinchronised with the lava (light) update (as lava is slowly going down few times per block).
