Placing any block crashes the client, when playing on a server/ Although I only tested with a mine cart, a standard rail, and red dyed clay, but I'm suspicious it's every block.

I have the same issue but it's not every block. In my case it was when I placed my 7th or 8th piece of cobblestone in a hole I dug out in the previous snapshot with no issues. Just a crash to launcher immediately. this is on single player, though afaik there is no distinction for the client anymore.
