Changing Angry tag of aggressive wolves is not working

Hurt wolf

Trying to set the Angry tag of wolves you hit to 0b does not have any effect.

Joined wolf

There seems to a difference between a wolf that was directly hurt by the player and one that joined the attack (see also MC-94010).
When setting the Angry tag of joined wolves to 0b their texture changes to a peaceful one, however they are still attacking the player.

WAI per Jeb's comment on MC-33558:

This has been fixed, but differently for wolves and zombies:

Wolves will only remain angry as long as they have something to attack. Summoning an angry wolf will immediately make it non-angry since it doesn't have a target.

Pig Zombies will actively try to find targets for as long as they're angry, even if they can't find / don't know the source of the anger.

However then for joined wolves the texture should not change

Searge's comment on MC-66115 can in my opinion not be taken as evidence for anything, else you could close at least 100 reports (estimated number). I would prefer a personal statement on that.

Isn't it still inconsistent and valid because of that?

Is it also inconsistent if you don't use /entitydata?

Well ok then close it because you have to use the /entitydata command...
