Summary
I have just installed Minecraft on my rather new iMac (didn't have time to play since months due to work). Attempted to create a new world, single player only, and noticed the same symptoms that occur when a server is having a heavy load. Checked the logs, and I saw, that it has thread warns, that it can't "keep up", as seen described in the Environments field of this issue.
Description
I can't provide decent repro-steps, since all I have to do on my machine is to start a new game, or load an existing one.
On Load the game misplaces my character mostly underground, except for game-starts when I'm on great heights.
UPDATE : I can describe one additional symptom. The create world & load world actions take an unusually big amount of time.
Sidenotes
I have annotated the issue as private because of the sensitive user & local machine information it contains. Please handle it with confidentiality.
My machine has great horsepower for software engineering purposes mainly. If it's capable of local cloud SOA virtualization without pain, it should work for Minecraft as well.

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]

@unknown I have Uploaded 2 different instances of the same anomaly. Also, please see the description field for additional information.

@unknown It would be great to receive some feedback on what might the root cause be, or how to solve it locally. The game is not playable at all ever since, and it would be great to enjoy it. As a user I feel ripped off here.

He asked for a Crash report, we can only help if you provide that

I did see the crash reports and the log. Everything is looking like MC-94438 .

oh, he put them in the zipped files? ok, I haven't said anything

@unknown @unknown as I don't have insight in Minecraft's sourcecode itself, and neither on the workflow Mojang works with, or Microsoft introduced, nor the software architecture, it may be a silly assumption ... but I'm not convinced, that a minecraft server related bug can be noted as a duplicate for a Single Player game strictly on the client.
If possible, I would like to kindly ask for elaboration, to understand the relationship, if permitted.

@unknown Even when playing single player, the user is essentially running a one player local server (not opened to the network) and a client. This change to a single package was made quite some time ago. Things like tick lag (blocks dropping slow, mobs moving slow) are "server" side while graphics are the client. Some things get more complex than that but that is the basics.

@unknown @unknown @unknown the bug is not resolved at all. See the attached recent log.

Changing view distance to 32, from 10
That makes the game render huge amount of chunks, which is really heavy on performance, turn it down a bit.
