If you put a pen next to a wall, then put animals in that pen, the animals will randomly walk into the wall and suffocate themselves. They also appear to go through cobblestone fences into other pens. I've gone from a heard of about 15 cows down to three.

What I am concerned with is the first part. Animals will walk into solid blocks, such as dirt, and suffocate randomly. I noticed this with my chickens.
