elytra wings in multiserver do not work, you just fall to death nuff said?

Functionality has changed is all I found out you have to jump in mid air and they will work
can not confirm, at my multiplayer server (extern) work the elytra absolut normal.
Linux rootserver / 16w07a-server / Oracle Java - java version "1.8.0_51"
