Sticky pistons failing to update with end rods attached

pistons fail to update to changes in redstone being applied even with command block updating them every tick (through placing blocks with a fill command on each tick) the pistons also occasionally fail to move the end rods attached to them with the, i discovered this bug designing a door with end rods in creative mode the images should allow the device to be completely recreated allowing you to solve this issue more easily.

the dimensions for the structure are 5*11*4

additional images that show what is behind used to update the blocks and that despite being unpowered the pistons still remain extended also the command for the bottom command block is /fill ~ ~1 ~ ~ ~3 ~ purpur_block this is so that the structure looks tidy (as i am trying to design a new door for a map i am making).
