Mobs suffocating by walking into walls

When a number of mobs are in an enclosed space some may drift into walls and take damage. When returning from a distance away as many as seven out of thirty pigs in a farm enclosed by dirt walls and village houses were dead. No redstone contraptions were running in the background or shifting blocks. Has not been tested in other worlds or modes.
