lag when excessive dragon's breath is present

(side note: "pool" refers to the Ender Dragon's new breath attack) When more than one "pool" of dragons breath is created by the ender dragon in the new 1.9 boss fight, it causes extreme lag on the game. This is not a connection issue or a problem with running programs in the background as I made sure that nothing else was running. Having one "pool" of dragon's breath on the ground is not an issue, but any more and the game struggles. My framerate drops to 1 FPS until the excess pools disappear, then I'm back up to 60 FPS. I have tried turning settings down to compensate for the framerate drop, but it doesn't help. I would really appreciate it if you could look into this and what causes it. Thank you 🙂

While having this issue:
Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) to this ticket.

I'm having the same issue and it makes killing the dragon impossible.
If I set the particles level to minimum the lags are gone but the purple particles (the "pool" made by dragon charge) become completely invisible.

Here is my manually triggered debug crash report and some screenshots.

@unknown, your game is modded.

Yes, I have Optifine installed, but this time I used standard profile, in profile editor it says "Use lates version" and it has no signs of Optifine. Actually, I have same problems in both profiles.

I'll get a clean install of Minecraft and will try to reproduce it.

Here is a crash report taken on a fresh install of Minecraft with default settings.
