Block Breaking Delay when in Spawn Protection

When starting a new world, I experienced some block breaking delay, but was still going 200 fps. I was inside the spawn radius, which may have caused block delay, and when I left the spawn radius it stopped. Another thing I may add is that when re entering the spawn radius it came back.
