[MC-98772] Server timeout on 1.9 Client, but not 1.8.9 client

I can connect to a server perfectly fine on a 1.8.9 client, but when I try to join a server on 1.9, it gives me a io.netty.channel.ConnectExceptionTimeout: connection timed out
Please help.

Is the server running 1.8.9 or 1.9?

That server most likely hasn't updated to 1.9 yet. Invalid.

Modded server.

It's running 1.9 vanilla.
I tried to connect to EDawg878 with 1.8.9, Outdated Client.
