Couch Co-Op, hero skin resets to default upon reopening the game

All offline play. When coming back to play with my family all hero skin revert back to Val. Makes it hard to find my kids specific character. Also when my kid plays his non PlayStation account, no matter what hero skin he chooses, even though it is correct in his inventory, on the over world he is always Val.
