While playing with online character, I often experience lagback or rubberbanding of my character, which makes the game almost unplayable in certain scenarios such as during a boss fight, an ambush or even a simple platforming, beacause my character just keeps jumping back to previous position unexpectedly. I died to a boss a lot of times because my character just stops in place and I can’t do anything to defend myself only to warp to an unexpected place and die few seconds later, only to lose progress on a quite challenging battle. This makes the game far too frustrating to play. I suspect that this has to do something with the way the servers communicate with the client, because there were no problems like this in the first game (which used peer-to-peer architecture). The bug disappers when switching to offline character, which is just another hint. There are even more hints that the communication between server and the client is struggling, such as the little green “plop” that appears when collecting emeralds (during offline play, it appears instantly as my character collects the emerald, but in online, it appears after 1 second or sometimes even longer than that).
I should note that I can only confirm this for a solo online play, as I could not test it in coop yet.
