Game hangs on audio for studio logos and a blank screen when launching the game

Upon launching the game, it hangs on the audio track for the studio logos with a blank screen, and does not progress to the start/sign in screen at all, making my installation of the game completely unplayable. This continues to be the case after several hours of trouble shooting after release.
