Error 0015 prevents both existing and new Online Heroes from loading personal worlds

On Steam, both my existing Online Hero and a newly created level-1 Online Hero consistently fail to load a personal online world. The game remains on the loading screen for approximately 90–100 seconds, then displays error 0015 (dedicated server connection lost) and returns to the main menu. It does not crash, and I never reach a playable world.

My original hero can sometimes join other players’ online worlds and play normally, with its level, equipment and inventory still available. Joining other players also occasionally fails, but loading my own world consistently fails.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Minecraft Dungeons II through Steam.

  2. Select my existing Online Hero.

  3. Press Play to enter a personal online world.

  4. Wait on the loading screen for approximately 90–100 seconds.

  5. Observe error 0015 and the return to the main menu.

  6. Repeat with a newly created level-1 Online Hero: the same failure occurs.

Expected result

The selected Online Hero successfully loads into a personal online world.

Actual result

The loading process fails with error 0015 before a playable world appears. Both existing and new Online Heroes are affected. The application remains running and returns to the main menu.

Background and onset

My original hero previously worked normally. Before this problem began, I encountered a quest issue involving a trembling NPC/golem near a musical door. The NPC was away from the objective marker and could not be interacted with. Resetting to the checkpoint did not resolve that quest issue.

I later exited normally through the in-game menu before dinner. After returning and launching the game again, my personal online world would no longer load. The problem has persisted for more than 24 hours.

The NPC issue is included only as background. I do not know whether it is related to error 0015.

Troubleshooting already completed

  • Fully uninstalled and reinstalled the game through Steam.

  • Restarted the game and PC.

  • Tested home internet, a mobile hotspot, a VPN and a game accelerator.

  • Tested my original Online Hero and a new level-1 Online Hero.

  • Successfully joined other players’ worlds on some attempts using my original hero.

  • Waited 10–30 minutes and subsequently more than 24 hours.

None resolved the personal-world loading failure. These tests were performed on the same PC; testing on another PC has not yet been completed.

Latest reproduction

October 14, 2026, approximately 17:25–17:27 China Standard Time (UTC+8), equivalent to 09:25–09:27 UTC.

I pressed Play around 17:24–17:25:00. The game stayed on the loading screen throughout. Approximately 90–100 seconds later, error 0015 appeared and I returned to the main menu without a crash.

Read-only diagnostic findings

  • Steam login returned OK at 17:21:05 UTC+8.

  • No Critical, Error or Warning events were found in Windows Application or System logs during 17:23–17:29 UTC+8.

  • Steam recorded the game exiting with code 0 at 17:28:32 UTC+8.

  • The available game logs contain only short CEF initialization messages, with no actionable session allocation, authentication or error 0015 details.

  • Historical game crashes with exception 0xc0000005 occurred on October 11–13, but none coincided with this reproduction.

  • Historical Intel AX211 Wi-Fi driver errors were found, but none appeared during this reproduction window.

  • No running processes named Windhawk, Wand, WeMod or Cheat Engine were found in the diagnostic snapshots.

These findings do not establish whether the root cause is local or server-side.

Requested investigation

Please investigate personal online session creation, server allocation, stale or inconsistent account-session state, and any authorization or connection rejection around the supplied timestamps.

Please determine whether the failure occurs before server allocation, during connection establishment, or during initial world loading. If additional client logs or a correlation/request ID are required, please provide supported collection instructions.

Preserving my existing Online Hero is essential. Please do not delete or reset its level, equipment, inventory or progression, or unlink my accounts without explaining the impact and obtaining my consent.
