My partner and I have been playing exclusively in offline local co-op since the beginning, using two separate Xbox accounts on the same console. The console remained connected to the internet with cloud saves enabled.
Both characters had reached approximately Level 90. However, after Player 1 selected “Save and Return to Main Menu,” Player 2’s character unexpectedly rolled back to Level 34, losing about a day’s worth of progress and equipment. Player 1’s progress remained intact.
Unlike MCD2-407, no crash occurred. The game returned to the main menu normally, yet Player 2’s progress was still lost.
Additional Details:
Both Xbox accounts have separate save data entries.
Player 2’s Xbox achievements and playtime remain accurate.
The rollback was confirmed in-game, not just on the character selection screen.
Restarting the console and signing back into both accounts did not resolve the issue.
Neither player manually deleted or reset any save data.
Expected Result: Both players retain their saved progress after returning to the main menu.
Actual Result: Player 2’s character reverted from Level 90 to Level 34, while Player 1’s progress remained unaffected.
Related Issue: MCD2-407 — Similar progress rollback in local co-op, but that report involved a game crash, whereas this issue occurred without one.
Is there any way to recover Player 2’s previous save data, or a known workaround to prevent further progress loss?

Likely just a duplicate of MCD2-407, regardless of whether or not there was a crash.
