Prime enchanter boss fight causes the game to lag and eventually crash

When fighting the prime enchanter on switch 2, the game starts to lag around a quarter of the way into his heath, and a few seconds to a few minutes later, the game crashes. I'm not sure if this is really caused by primarily using ranged attacks during the fight, but it's happened twice in a row now.
