I have not been able to log into the launcher or even load my game to play in about 3 or 4 days. I have checked my internet, firewall, as well as the website to see if anything was down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft 4 times in hopes that it would be fixed, as well as reset my computer. I am still unable to play multiplayer or even single player, or get past the launcher.

Does it say "couldent connect to servers" when you click play? If so you have what I have. I've spent around 2 years not playing Minecraft and occasionally trying to fix it
Started having this exact problem myself, two days ago. Still can't get on.
Using Debian Stretch, fully patched.
What I've done:
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft.
Renamed my .minecraft folder so as to start over fresh.
I'm running Linux, so no antivirus.
Verified that I can ping mojang's servers.
Verified that my firewall is not running.
Verified that my java version is fully up to date.
Verified that my minecraft launcher is the latest version.
Restarted numerous times.
I have tried this from home, from my local library, and from a few other wifi signals around town. Same result everywhere, so this is not a router issue.
I happened to have a really old launcher.jar on my hard drive, and I fired that up. It let's me log in, and shows the news page. Of course I can't play 1.14 with it, but this does verify that my laptop can connect to Mojang's servers without issue.
This is very frustrating. I'd really like to start playing again.
Had the same issue.... as suggested on some issues i already reinstalled the ca-certificates-java package.. but it dont work...
And just like that, with no changes made to my system at all, it started working yesterday afternoon.
No idea what caused it or what fixed it.
I have a huge lag when i play the game, when i play in my server with the new update, sometimes it's so laggy that it doesn't even save what i did and i can move normally. My friends "Pelshine" tho has problems booting her minecraft, then when it's booted it doesn't show any servers.
I am having the same problem, and no luck.
