[MCL-10045] Minecraft will only launch on certain versions.

I'm trying to play some older custom maps and when I create a custom configuration to launch in say 1.2.5, it loads and then it says the game crashed for unexpected reasons. I've tried multiple different versions just to test it out and so far 1.6.2 and the current version are the only ones that I have gotten to run properly. Any reason this is happening and any solutions to this issue would be greatly appreciated!

However, this issue has been closed as Invalid.

Your Minecraft version is outdated. We currently take issues for version 1.13.1.
Please update to the latest version as it includes the newest fixes. If you still have this problem after updating, then please create a new issue.
In case of a game crash, please also attach the crashlog.

I'm not sure why the issue has been closed, my issue hasn't been solved. I'm not trying to play with 1.13.1, I'm trying to play with older versions that are not working. Your comment also says I should attach the crash logs which I did.

Sorry, this is actually a duplicate of MCL-5837. This is caused by running old versions in the same directory as new ones. Please read the workaround in that ticket (MCL-5837).
