Unable to Create Account in Minecraft PC

Hi, 

I'm trying to create an account on the Minecraft Launcher page, but doesn't seem to work.  I do not have an already existing account, as this is the first time playing Minecraft on my PC.  I click on the option (Create New Account?), and that takes me to a page to register a new account.  I fill in all the details, my E-Mail, Password and Date of Birth, and then click the green box 'Register'.  Once I click it, the green box fades out to grey.  After this is done, nothing happens.  I waited several minutes after trying again, but still nothing.  I also tried using another E-Mail and password, but that didn't work either.  I've been trying to create an account in Minecraft Launcher for several days now, but nothing I do works.
