Historical versions and old offical release versions not installing

I recently got a new computer, and redownloaded the Minecraft launcher. I was wanting to play the Infdev version, however this error popped up:

Failed to download file, the file contents differ from what was expected.

I also tried with Alpha 1.0.4 and 1.2.6, as well as release 1.4.7 and all of them had the same exact error. Is there any way to fix this? I enjoy playing the older versions of the game and find it very nostalgic.
