Microsoft Store owners are unable to get Dungeons through the launcher.

On the Minecraft Dungeons launcher, People who purchased the game though the Microsoft Store, as well as Xbox Game Pass subscribers are unable to launch, download or update the game, even though they are able to just directly launch the executeable and get authenticated.

This doesn't seem to be intended behavior, as the launcher should be helpful for both versions, handled by a single account system.

Expected behaviour

The launcher should point you to the Microsoft Store version, if necessary.

For game pass, the launcher should get information about an active xbox game pass subscription and point you to the Microsoft Store version.

To reproduce

  1. Log in to Minecraft Dungeons Launcher with an MSA that owns the game.
→ ❌ It's not possible to launch or download the game with the launcher, although uses the exact same account system, and is able to determine if the player bought the Win32 version or the Microsoft Store version.

This is in our Minecraft Dungeons FAQ and follows intended design. As a member of the Launcher team I am happy you would want to use our launcher, but unfortunately this functionality is not available today.

NOTE: Purchasing the game on one digital store does not grant access to the game on the other store (i.e. Purchasing on minecraftdungeons.net does not make you own the game on Windows 10 Store, and vice versa).
