when i try to open minecraft launcher or download the launcher i get an error message that says the registry refers to a nonexistent java runtime environment installation or the runtime is corrupted the system cannot find the file specified someone plz help me! ive tried and tried but cant fix it! help!

When using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit operating system the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp .
