Mac launcher error LoadErrorABIMismatch

Upon trying to launch the minecraft launcher, it said "Updating Minecraft" then came up with an error saying "Couldn't load laucher core from '/Users/<myname>/Library/Application Support/minecraft/launcher/launcher.bundle': LoadErrorABIMismatch" Upon further inspection launcher.bundle was still there, and everything seemed to be normal, but the launcher wasn't working.

I was also affected by this bug this morning, MacBook Pro 2019. Yes, I believe I activated the beta launcher recently. Is there a way to unset that if the launcher won't start?

I can't rememebr, I may well have been on the beta but I don't think so, @Galaxy_2Alex

I was also impacted by this bug this morning.  Same error message.  We’re running a Mac.  We did not install the beta version.

Update: I was able fix this by turning off beta.

I've had the exact same issue, I did have the beta launcher but it was fine until around and hour and a half ago. I think (but have no idea) that it could be to do with the nether update as it said updating minecraft before loading the error message. I also deleted the launcher folder in library/minecraft then tried again but the same thing happened. is it possible mojang has an incompatibility with the nether update for Mac users?

the comment by @diane Donaldson works!

WOOOOHOOOO yes it does @Diande Donaldson, that works. Thank you so much. It must be an issue with the beta launcher

ty Diane Donaldson it has worked for me _

Hi, we have seen this internally too. Thanks for reporting the issue, Mojang will investigate the cause for it.

Hey everyone - we have rolled back the beta version to match the release. We are greatful that you want to help us out test out new things, and clearly we missed something here. We will go back to the drawing table and see what happened.

Meanwhile, enjoy the Nether Update!
