No sound in 13w42b

I too am having trouble with sound. Half the time I use the snapshot, sound is missing. I am using a resource texture pack called Ovo's Rustic. I have a windows 8.1 environment with the latest Java update, MC snapshot 13w42b.

The problem is that the texture pack has no sound with it...shouldn't the minecraft default pack take over for the sounds if the pack is texture only? I do not have any mods installed on this profile. Not even optifine or MC patcher. I attached my text from the development console of the launcher.

Same here, never have any sound anymore. (Also, I can't launch the game online and created a launcher thread on that.) I do not have an assets or a sounds folder in my freshly downloaded Minecraft folder. Is that normal? This problem occurs in any version of Minecraft that I play. Currently 1.6.4 and the snapshot 13w43 snapshot.

Razinao's suggestion to remove the Xerces file from user/library/java has done the trick! Everything's back to normal and 1.7.2 is working fine.
