The bug
Even though 1.17 Pre-release 2 has been released, it does not appear in the launcher's patch notes.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to patch notes
2. Notice that 1.17 Pre-release 2 is not seen on the patch notes in the launcher

This has been fixed 🙂 All current pre releases now show
