I just deleted my .minecraft folder because it was to messy and now I get many errors that the launcher can't download many sounds. Here is a little part of it:

I had this issue as well, but I blamed my internet connection. After a while, I was able to get all sounds (except boss.ogg, which turned out empty for some reason).
