the launcher complains "Your Java Runtime is incompatible" for minecraft version 1.14.4 and JRE 1.11.
JRE 1.11 did work correctly with minecraft versions 1.6 to 1.16.5, and there is no reason to complain about incompatible version and/or download/install older JRE version.

this bug is about JRE version incorrectly evaluated as incompatible
perhaps MCL could have list of minecraft versions and minimum-maximum versions ov java supported

Minecraft 1.17 and above requires Java 16.
