I try to install the game and i keep getting an install error. it happens when i download it through the minecraft launcher and through the xbox game pass app. i just bought a new ssd, crucial bx500 2tb, thinking it would fix the error. it has not.

Could you try to reinstall the Launcher? After deleting it, find .minecraft and delete the file - what is important that this file should be deleted from the trash bin, because corrupted files from the old .minecraft file may interract with the newly generated .minecraft file.
Are you logged in in both Xbox app, MS store, and Launcher with the same MS account?
Have you tried signing out of all your Windows Apps, and the signing in again?
Is your Windows and associated apps (Xbox app, MS store) up-to-date?
