I have been unable to log in after closing Minecraft, I migrated my account if that would have anything to do with it. I have attached a video of the issue. I have also restarted my computer and the effect persists. i was met with the error code "eroded badlands"

I am unsure of how to reinstall the launcher on my device, I have tried to use the Microsoft login, but it does not let me progress any further than in the video. I shall try removing the launcher accounts file.

i have removed the file (and copied it beforehand) and I experience the same problem.

Please try pushing 'Microsoft login', then clicking 'Go back', constantly.
By reinstalling I mean, removing Launcher from your computer and installing it once again.
You can also try deleting the .minecraft folder (copying whole folder somewhere else if you have some worlds or data there) after uninstalling and then reinstalling the Launcher again.
Please also state your MacOS version.

I have exactly the same problem as @JosephOlson.
I get the same message as shown in the video. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Minecraft launcher. (I also deleted the minecraft folder with all the configs and the saves)
